Biography: Dick Van Scyoc coached for 28 years at Peoria Manual HS, 15 at Washington HS and 2 years at Armington HS.  His teams won numerous championships on the way to a then state record  826 victories.  His 1962 Washington team advanced to the Elite 8.  With Manual his teams finished 4^th , 2^nd in 1991 and won the IHSA state championship in 1994, his final season.  Coach Van Scyoc won the Peoria Area Tri-County Sports Award for basketball in 1972 and was a member of the Chicago Daily News Board of Coaches for many years.  Dick Van Scyoc died on August 5, 2022 at the age of 98.
