Biography: Jackson Kiester spent 22 years molding the Meteors of Thornton Fractional HS in Calumet City into a basketball power (this school is now called Thornton Fractional North HS).  Kiester got the job done with his teams winning the South Suburban League in 1931, 1934, 1939, 1940, 1942, 1947, and 1948.  His 1946 team led by Wally Horvatich gained the Sweet Sixteen.  Kiester attended high school in Columbia City, IN and graduated from Wabash College.  Before coaching at Thornton Fractional, Jackson spent one year at Lewistown HS.  Jackson Kiester died on September 24, 2009 at the age of 79.
