Biography: Induction into the IBCA Hall of Fame made Ray Doran a member of four such honor groups. The Chicagoan is also enshrined in the Chicago Catholic League, Chicago Public League and Central Officials Association Halls of Fame.  The Calumet High School graduate employed his whistle in the Chicago Catholic and Public leagues and various Chicago suburban leagues for more than 25 years. Doran refereed championship games seven times in the Public League, eight times in the Catholic League and six times in Chicago City Championships.  Doran also worked Division I college games in the Big Ten Conference for 12 years, the Mid-American Conference for 8 years and the Midwestern Cities Conference for 7 years. Doran taught for 35 years at Mendel Catholic (1959-62) and Bowen High School (1962-93). He coached basketball for three years at Mendel and coached football for 10 years and baseball for 20 years at Bowen.
