Biography: Dave Humerickhouse is the first high school basketball player in Illinois to play in four consecutive state tournaments. Later players such as Peoria Manual’s Sergio McClain and Chicago Simeon’s Jabari Parker were simply following his footsteps. Dave played four seasons for Paris HS and the legendary Ernie Eveland. The Tigers during that era made 7 consecutive appearances. Humerickhouse started in 1940 and in 1943 was an all-state player as Paris captured the state title. He then moved on to Bradley University from 1946-50 and was an all-American player as a junior when the Braves competed in the NIT. Dave passed away on September 14, 2007.
