Biography: Roger Powell set the Joliet Central HS career scoring record with 2,200 points scored.  In 1970 Roger averaged 33 ppg and led his team to a 3^rd place state finish.  After high school, he moved south to Illinois State University.  In Normal, Roger became one of the Redbirds’ all-time leading scorers.  After his 4 years as a starter, Roger had accumulated 1,306 points scored.  After college, Roger spent some time at his alma mater as an assistant coach.
