Biography: Kelvyn Small led (Chicago Heights) Bloom HS to a second-place finish in the 1975 Class AA IHSA State Tournament. Small’s last second shot, his 30th and 31st points of the game, defeated Proviso East in the state quarterfinal game. In the state semi-final game, against East St. Louis HS, Small scored 29 points. Kelvyn was the dominant player of the tourney. Small was the most valuable player of the North squad in the first IBCA All-Star game. Small played three years at Oregon and was the team captain as a senior. Small continued to play professional basketball in France in the European Pro League.
