Biography: Tammy earned IBCA all-state player honors while starring at Cuba High School. She was a two-time All-State player at CHS with 2,344 career points and a 52-pt. game. After her prep career ended, she went on to have a star-studded career at Northern Illinois University. Upon graduation, Tammy was No. 1 in NIU career boards (1,099), No. 2 in career blocked shots (200), No. 3 in career scoring (1,921 points), No. 3 in career FGs (783), and No. 6 in career FTs (351). She averaged 19.7 ppg. and 10.4 rpg. During her senior season, the Huskies went two rounds into NCAA and finished No. 17 in the final AP poll for coach Jane Albright. Tammy was named team co-MVP, three-time NSC Player of Week, First-Team All-NSC, First-Team USBWA All-District Four, and preseason Honorable Mention Women’s Basketball News All-America in that final year. She ranked No. 27 in NCAA field goal pct. (.570 in 1989-90) and No. 3 in NCAA shot rejections (84 in 1988-89). She tied the NCAA and school single-game records with FTs (22) and FTAs (24) and blocked seven shots vs. Marquette as a junior. Tammy produced 99 twin-digit scoring games in 116 career appearances—34 in 20s and seven in 30s (1986-90). She scored a career-high 35 points vs. DePaul and San Diego State (1989-90). She set Huskie records for game consecutive FTs (17) vs. Marquette (1988-89), season rebounds (322 in 1989-90), career rebounds (1,099), season blocked shots (84). Tammy established NIU scoring marks for postseason (31 pts. vs. Akron in 1989 NSC) and NCAA (28 vs. Purdue in 1990) tourneys. Tammy played pro ball overseas.
