Biography: Considered by many as the best female player to play in Springfield, Shatonia attended Southeast High School for her freshman year and Springfield High School for her remaining three seasons.  For her career, she scored 2, 043 points, grabbed 865 rebounds, handed out 532 assists and snagged 308 steals.  She was named to the all-state teams selected by the IBCA, The Champaign News-Gazette and The Chicago Tribune.  She was inducted into the Springfield Sports Hall of Fame in 2009.  During her college career, Shatonia was diagnosed with a brain tumor that she overcame.  It did however affect her vision so that she was unable to contnue playing basketball.
