Biography: Melissa averaged 18.1 ppg and 8.9 rpg at Elgin High School.  She helped lead the Maroons to 2nd place in IHSA Class AA tournament in 1996.  She was named to 5 all-state teams.  Melissa played collegiately at the University of Illinois and led th Illini in 3-point baskets with 66 made, placing her 3rd on the school all-time list.  She finished in the top 10 for program assists as she helped the Illini to 4 NCAA tournament berths.  During her time in the program, the team also won the Big Ten Championship.  After playing, Melissa went into coaching with a graduate assistantship at Florida State University and assistant coach stints at Loyola University–Chicago and Northern Illinois University.
