Biography: Bob Anderson coached only four varsity seasons at (Harvey) Thornton after an 8 year stint with the sophomore team and 5 seasons in junior high coaching. His sophomores won six South Suburban League championships, while his varsity teams won three South Suburbans, three regional titles, two sectional titles and one State Championship in 1966. The 1966 team also ruled the Centralia Holiday Tournament. Bob’s sophomore teams were 122-30 and his varsity record was 95-19. After finishing his coaching career, Bob became the assistant principal at Thornwood HS in South Holland.
