Biography: James E. Collie coached for 21 years at Illinois State University and McKendree College.  His teams won 327 games during this time.  His McKendree teams won five straight Prairie Conference Championships in the early 1950’s.  Moving on to ISU, his teams won four Interstate Conference titles and three ISU teams played in the national tournament.  One of the nation’s all time fine coaches in the college division, Coach Collie was responsible for the recruitment of Doug Collins to ISU.  Coach Collie passed away on May 1, 2006.
