Biography: James has coached for more than 35 years, most recently as the grils’ head coach at Vienna High School  He also was head coach at (Metropolis) Massac County from 1986-2002, highlighted by IHSA 2nd place state finishes in 1986 (Class A) and 1987 (Class AA).  James guided Massac County to the Elite eight in 1988 and the Sweet 16 in 1989.  His teams won 14 regional championships in 17 years and were sectional runners-up on four occasions.
