Biography: John spent 35 years in coaching, highlighted by a Class 1A IHSA State Championship in 2013 as the head coach at (Mason City) Illini Central High School.  He was the head coach of the Cougars from 2002-2014, winning 4 IHSA Regional titles, 2 IHSA Sectional Crowns, and 2 IHSA Super-Sectionals.  John also was the head coach at Roanoke-Benson High School from 1997-99 and had assistant coaching stints at Stewardson-Strasburg High School and Illini Central High School.  He coached 5th through 8th grades at Trinity Lutheran Grade School in Stewardson from 1981-92.  Sadly, John passed away on April 13, 2018, a few weeks before his IBCA induction.
