Biography: Mary Kay was a pioneer for girls basketball. She had an 80-24 record in five years at Carl Sandburg College, leading her 1986 team to 11th in the nation. Previously, she coached 7 seasons at (Peoria) Richwoods High School, amassing a remarkable 198-12 record.  Mary Kay led Richwoods to the Class AA state title in 1983, runner-up finishes in 1981 and 1984, and third place in 1985. She went on to be the top assistant at Louisiana Tech during a 153-15 five-year run that included a national title.
