Biography: At Coal City, Freeman Trotter outlasted four basketball coaches. Trotter displayed a great fondness for Coal City basketball for more than 50 years. For 35 seasons he was the official scorer for all Coalers’ varsity, junior varsity and conference basketball tournaments. Freeman was a fixture at Coaler games who was recognized by alumni and opponents alike. Freeman Trotter passed away on November 23, 2005.
