Biography: Every basketball program should have a Mike Carrigan. Luckily for Bradley-Bourbonnais High School it had Carrigan. The postal service dispatcher had served as official scorer for the Boilermakers beginning in 1967. Carrigan used vacation times to attend Christmas Tournaments as far away as Centralia to keep the Bradley scorebook. Offered money for gas, meals, and motel expenses Carrigan always refused, saying: “The money could be better spent for the kids and the coaches.” A member of the Boosters Club since 1970, Carrigan spent time as its treasurer beginning in 1974. In addition to basketball, Carrigan has been the football timer beginning in 1972 and lent his hand as a timer in track. Unlike many parents who fade from the scene when their sons/daughters graduate, Carrigan remained steadfastly helping year after year through the good and the lean years doing what he calls his favorite hobby – helping and attending high school athletic events.
