Biography: Augie Jacobs was a long-time high school basketball official in Illinois. His whistle was heard in the IHSA State Tournaments at Champaign won by Pekin (1964; Collinsville (1965); and Evanston (1968). Additionally, Augie worked 13 IHSA Super-sectional games, 18 IHSA Sectional tournaments, and 22 IHSA Regional tournaments (2 district tournaments as well). In all, he as officiated 200+ games in the state elimination series. He also worked the DeKalb Holiday Tournament for 18 years and the Morris Holiday Tournament for 13 years. A member of the Suburban Basketball officials Assn. for 25 years, Augie was its president and secretary at different times.
