Biography: Raffe was a 1st team all-city and all-area player selection at (Chicago) Schurz High School.  He averaged 32 ppg as a senior in 1951.  He led the city of Chicago in scoring and was his team’s MVP.  Raffe had games of 41, 42, and 43 points during his senior season.  The 2-time team captain went on to play basketball at DePaul University.  He then taught English for 35 years at (Chicago) Taft High School where he coached basketball and tennis.  Raffe died on May 3, 2018 at the age of 85.
