Biography: Greg Carney entered (Chicago) Mt. Carmel High School in 1962 and became an outstanding competitor for the Caravan.  By the time Greg had graduated, he had set the career scoring mark with 1,435 points (NOTE:  This was before the 3 Pt. line era began).  His single season soring mark of 850 points stood for over 40 years.  Greg was a starter for the 1965 Chicago City Champions and served as the team captain.  He was a 2-time All-Catholic League selection and earned All-State and All-American Player honors in 1966.  He went on to star at Wichita State University where he was named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference Team as a senior, while earning his team’s MVP recognition in the same year.  He was selected to the Small Man All-American team in 1970 and was drafted by the Kentucky Colonels of the ABA.
