Biography: Joyce was a four-year starter and three-year captain at Buffalo Grove High School, graduating in 1978. She was a three-year all-conference selection and two-time All-Area choice by the Suburban Tribune and Chicago Tribune.  Joyce was invited to try out for the Junior Olympic Team. She led her team to the conference title as a senior.  Joyce also played volleyball and softball, earning 12 varsity letters during her prep career.  She played basketball for one year each at The University of Illinois and Illinois State.
