Biography: Bill Ridley was one of the outstanding small men in the history of Illinois high school and college basketball.  He played at Taylorville HS where he was picked on the All State First Team in 1952.  In high school, Bill scored 1752 points for a three year average of 23 PPG.  At the University of Illinois he was chosen on the all Big Ten first team in 1956.  He was also the recipient of the Ralph Woods free throw trophy in 1955.  His U of I total was 770 points for a 15+  PPG average.  Bill Ridley passed away on September 28, 2019 at the age of 85.
