Biography: Walter was a 6’5″ guard out of (Chicago) Collins High School who earned All-Chicago Public League and All-State honors in 1986 and 1987.  He then played for 4 years at the University of Minnesota, averaging 7.3 ppg; 3.4 rpg; and 2.3 apg.  Walter was not taken in the NBA draft but went on to play for three seasons in the league.  His best year was with Dallas as a rookie in 1992-93, scoring 873 points for an average of 7.9 ppg.
