Biography: John was a 1st-team all-state player as a senior in 1994 at (Metropolis) Massac County High School.  He totaled 1,753 career points, 689 career rebounds and set a state record with 73.3% shooting from the field.  As a freshman at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, John led NCAA Division II in field goal percentage at 71.5% for the 1994-95 season.  He also led the team in blocked shots that season in addition to averaging 13.5 ppg.  He set the SIU-E career field goal percentage mark at 69.5%.
