Biography: The year 1994 was a very special year for the Joliet Junior College Men’s Basketball Team who captured the 1st National Championship in school history.  Head Coach Pat Klingler led JJC to the championship with an 85-80 victory in the title game against Owen’s Tech from Ohio.  Pat’s teams won 111 games in just 4 years.  He won several coach of the year awards in 1994.  The team sent several players to Division I schools:  Haris Majezinovic–Indiana University; Craig Brunes–Valparaiso University; Bobby Krahulik–The University of Toledo; Paul Nondas–St. Louis University; Kelly Lynch–Loyola University; and Ivan Colbert–Morehead State University.  The team went 28-8 and was Regiona IV Division 2 tournament Champs.  The team was a division 2 school but won the Central Florida CC Thanksgiving Tournament against Division I Junior College programs.  JJC is the nation’s oldest community college.
