Biography:

St. Elizabeth lived up to its Ironmen nickname by finishing the 1956-57 season with a 48-3 record and City of Chicago and National Catholic championships. Led by Art Hicks, the Ironmen sandwiched a Chicago Catholic League title and a win over Chicago Public League champion Crane for the city crown by traveling to Tennessee to win the top prize in the National Catholic High School Tournament. Winning the DePaul University pre-Christmas tournament and the Chicago Catholic League and City of Chicago championships for a second straight year was an unprecedented triple crown in city history.
