Biography: On their way to the 1967 state championship, Pekin High School established a 31-2 record and set a high standard for execution of the fundamentals.  Pekin was a great defensive team and while not possessing great size, managed to destroy every team in the IHSA state tournament with unerring offensive efficiency, superb shooting, and a menacing man-to-man press that wore every opponent into submission.  The team was led by Hall of Fame Coach Dawson Hawkins.
