Biography: The Nashville Hornets, coached by Bob Bogle and assisted by Don Hawkins and Dick Ruggles, won the IHSA Class A State Championship in 1978 with a 30-3 record. The Hornets were led by twin towers (John Jankowski and Roger Steig), sharpshooter Paul Patton, and guards Mike Borowiak and Barry Morris. The Hornets defeated Havana in the finals after overcoming a double digit first half lead in the semis against (New Lenox) Providence Catholic High School.
