Biography:

Tom was a key player on outstanding Rantoul High School teams. He helped the Eagles reach the Elite Eight as a junior in 1956 and the sectional finals in 1957 in the IHSA tournament one-class system. 

Tom went on to play at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale from 1957-61, averaging 11.9 points and 7.1 rebounds for his career. Tom was the Saluki MVP as a senior. He was a two-time all-conference pick and ranked 11th at SIU in career rebounds and 25th in scoring.
