Biography:
Charles played at (Chicago) St. Ignatius High School in the 1920’s. After high school, he played at Loyola University-Chicago and earned All-America player honors. He was the first Ramblers player to be named a basketball All-American.
Charles was one of the pioneers in the early stages of professional basketball. He played from 1929-35 for the following teams: Oshkosh All Stars, Chicago Bruins and Chicago Duffy Florals. He is a member of the Loyola Hall of Fame. Charles was inducted into the IBCA Hall of Fame posthumously.
