Biography: Carey has the rare distinction of taking teams to both the IHSA Boys’ and IHSA Girls’ State Finals.  His 1991 Williamsville boys’ team placed 4th in Class A, while his 2003 Pana Girls’ team was the Class A runner-up.  Carey’s teams posted a 552-436 overall record.  His teams won 50+ tournaments.  He spent time at (Palmyra) Northwestern High School, Divernon High School, Williamsville High School, and (Springfield) Sacred Heart-Griffin High School as the head coach of the boys’ programs.  He was at Nokomis High School, Pana High School, and Taylorville High School on the girls’ side.
