Biography: Ken Ludwig is a graduate of (Effingham) St. Anthony High School where he lettered for 4 years in both basketball and baseball. He repeated this feat at Eastern Illinois University. While at Eastern, Ken was an all-conference player during his junior and senior seasons. He began his coaching career as an assistant at Kankakee High School before assuming the head coaching position a Newton High School where he stayed for 8 seasons. Ken’s next stop brought him to McHenry High School for 21 seasons as the head boys’ coach before retiring in 1989. Ken finished his career with 342 wins, 5 IHSA Regional titles, one Sweet 16 appearance and 3 conference championships. Ken served the IBCA as the District 10 representative on the board of directors for 13 years. He also served on the all-state selection committee. 3 times he was the District 10 Coach of the Year and coached the AA North Squad in the Illinois-Wisconsin All Star game.
