Category: Friends of Basketball

Schools / Organizations:
Chrisman High School

Biography:

Bob Davis is a product of two, one-room schoolhouses.  There was Knawbone (Grades 1-5) and Larkin School (7 and 8).  As a freshman, Davis attended Scottland High School before graduating from Chrisman High School.

For the 33 years prior to his induction, Bob Davis has kept the score book for the Chrisman High School boys’ basketball teams, both at home and on the road.  He has also accompanied Coach Roger Beals and the Cardinals to the Assembly Hall for the Class A IHSA state tournament when they finished second (1985) and third (1987), both highlights for Davis.

Instead of slowing down upon his retirement, Davis has accepted more responsibilities.  Just before his induction, he added scorebook duties for the Chrisman girls and the junior high boys.  When the high school added volleyball, Davis also kept that scorebook.

Davis loves the game of basketball and that’s the reason for giving so many hours of service to Chrisman High School.  Bob Davis died on March 23, 2003 at the age of 72.
