Biography:  At the time of his induction, Robert L. Peterson had been the athletic trainer for all Kewanee School District teams for more than 25 years. This included football and basketball. Peterson was a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.  Peterson has served the Kewanee Board of Education for more than 20 years and served the Board as president . Peterson has also served as the president of the Henry-Stark Special Education District since its inception during the 1968-69 school year. Peterson served 15 years as the eighth grade basketball and football coach. In his first 14 seasons as basketball coach, Peterson compiled a record of 233-62, including two 21-0 seasons. His basketball teams won 10 Princeton Holiday Basketball Tournaments. Twice he has been named IBCA District 11 “Coach of the Year.” All his football and basketball coaching was on a volunteer basis.  Although details are not availabe, it is believed that Robert L. Peterson died a few years ago.
