Biography:

Ray Pesavento has been watching Lockport High School basketball since 1940, when he was a student there.  At the time of his induction, Pesavento had been a season ticket holder for nearly 40 years.

Pesavento began keeping scrapbooks on Porters’ team in 1957.  He continued the practice regardless as to the abilities of the team.  He kept a scrapbook on them all.

Pesavento was absent from only those games played while he was serving with the army in the Pacific Theater.  Pesavento comes to Porters’ games whether the team is outstanding or average.  The support doesn’t stop with the school year.  He attended all summer league games as well.

Pesavento’s long infatuation with Lockport basketball and his great interest in the game made him, not just a fan, but gave true meaning to the phrase friend of basketball.  Ray Pesavento died on December 1, 2008 at the age of 87.
