Bob Trimble

Biography: In 19 seasons at Monticello High School, Bob Trimble’s teams won 363 games and lost 146 for a 71.1 winning percentage. In addition, Trimble had a 117-32 combined record as freshman and junior varsity coach at Tuscola and two years as an Monticello assistant. Trimble teams have won eight IHSA Regionals and one IHSA Sectional. Eight of the 14 years Monticello competed in the Okaw Valley Conference, Trimble has coached championship teams. His teams have also won three conference tournaments and eight holiday tournament crowns. Trimble’s teams have been consistent winners. All 19 win totals have been double digit, 15 have won 15 or more games and nine have been 20-game winners. Twice, the IBCA has named Trimble coach of the year in DIstrict 15. Trimble’s principal, WIlliam Mitze, says of the Sage’s coach, “More important than the won-lost record has been the manner in which he has conducted himself and supervised athletes over the years. He has demonstrated that nice guys can win!”
