Biography:

Kathy Lanter ended a successful 19-year career at Okawville High School with a 29-8 team that was second in the IHSA Class A girls’ basketball tournament in 2005-06.  She had a 448-131 record and won 14 IHSA Regionals, 7 IHSA Sectionals and 7 IHSA Supersectionals. Her teams made the Elite Eight seven times, with state titles in 1994 and 2000, second-place finishes in 1993 and 2006, a third in 1999 and a fourth in 2003. She was named Class A Coach of the Year seven times. 

Her teams won 11 regular-season tournament championships and won the Kiel Shootout in St. Louis twice. She was conference Coach of the Year three times, IGCA Coach of the Year twice and she coached in the 1996 IBCA All-Star game. She was Belleville News Coach of the Year three times and Centralia Coach of the Year once.  Kathy had a 22-1 record as coach at the grade school level for one season when her team won a state title and she was named Coach of the Year.
