Biography: Merv Baker was a graduate of Eastern Illinois University.  He began his coaching career at Findley HS.  Merv then spent some time at Bradley HS before moving to Dupo HS where he had many successful seasons.  From 1953-1970 he was at Charleston HS.  His lifetime won/loss record was 535 wins against only 221 losses.  Merv finished his career as the athletic director at Charleston HS.  Merv Baker passed away on October 17, 2009 at the age of 92.
