Biography: The (Chicago) Mt. Carmel varsity basketball team was undefeated in 1944 with a record of 28-0 in the highly competitive Chicago area.  This team coached by John Tracy dominated its opponents throughout the year.  The pinnacle achievement was the winning of the 2^nd Annual All City Championship Game against a team that had finished 3^rd in the IHSA state finals.  Individually the team was unique in its era for its overall height and abilities.  Each starter was an all-around performer; each of them received individual citations for excellence.
