Biography: Kurt’s love affair with sports journalism began as sports editor of the student newspaper at Hoffman Estates High School.  Following his graduation from Illinois State University in 1987, he moved to Peoria and has covered high school sports for WMBD-TV.  Kurt has worked IHSA broadcasts for boys and girls basketball and does play-by-play for ISU basketball and football on television.  He was the 2018-19 recepient of the IHSA Distinguished Media Award.
