Biography: Chris Fisher has served the Midwest Central CUSD 191 community for 24 years as a volunteer, coach, and scorebook/clock keeper. Coach Fisher is an example of outstanding character and support for our community’s youth and athletes. He is recognized annually by athletes, families, and administration for his patience, approach, and basketball acumen. Aside from his coaching and work to support Midwest Central basketball programs, Coach Fisher is a fixture at athletic events across all age groups in our district, volunteering for boys/girls basketball events and other sports year-round. Coach Fisher began his contribution to the game of basketball in 1996, coaching youth basketball as a volunteer at our Forman Center for 6 years. For 18 years and running, he has coached Midwest Central Middle School Girls’ Basketball, with an approximate record of 234–108. For 10 years, he has coached Midwest Central High School’s Junior Varsity Girls’ Basketball team. In addition to this coaching service, Chris Fisher has worked the clock or book at Midwest Central basketball games for 23 years. He continues to coach student athletes at the middle and high school levels. His relationships with athletes go beyond the game of basketball. Many student athletes view Coach Fisher as a mentor or family member. Athletes regularly consult with Coach Fisher for advice in basketball and life decisions. Whether it be a constructive approach to address personal conflict or a choice of college attendance, Coach Fisher can be relied upon to deliver sound advice that enables student athletes to make good decisions for themselves. His advice and reach extend years beyond his direct influence. Managing both tears and elation, Coach Fisher is part of his athlete’s lives. There are 10 years of Coaching High School Junior Varsity Girls’ Basketball. (2010-2020). Continuously, he has 23 years of Service running the clock and keeping the scorebook (1996-2020).
