Biography: A true friend of Illinois basketball, Travis Inman, for 44 years dedicated himself to his community and athletics. Inman began at Normal Community High School in 1945, where for four years he served as head basketball manager, statistician, timer and scorekeeper. Moving to the Macomb area in 1950, Inman assumed similar responsibilities at Northwestern High School in Sciota, where he continued his volunteer work for the next 40 years. He was an invaluable assistant in the areas of timing, scoring and working as a chain gang crew member at Western Illinois University for football as well as basketball beginning in 1967. After the inception of the collegiate shot clock, he assumed the operation of the 45-second clock for the Leathernecks. The veteran sportsman, who rarely missed a game, served as the IHSA Class A assistant and chief statistician for the Macomb Super Sectional, regionals and district tourneys at Sciota. If there is a job to be done, Travis Inman could always be counted on to be the first to volunteer. It is believed that Travis Inman died several years ago.
