Biography: Maynard Tervelt is a true friend of basketball, beginning in 1933 when he started as a ticket seller and ticket taker at Morrison High School basketball games. Tervelt has also done it for football, volleyball and wrestling. It is believed that Tervelt served in his capacity for more than 1500 athletic events. In that long span, he missed only six games. He is a friend of all fans who attended Morrison High School athletic events, including visitors. His help and dedication to Morrison High School athletics will be tough to match again. Maynard Tervelt died on August 8, 2000 at the age of 86.
