Biography:
Marilyn was the first girls’ basketball coach at Bloom High School in Chicago Heights, posting a 359-277 record from 1972-99. For the first 11 seasons, the school played fewer than 25 games, including eight with less than 20 games.
Marilyn’s teams were 97-18 in a four-year stretch from 1992-96 with postseason success each year. She guided Bloom to nine IHSA Regional championships and two IHSA Sectional titles. She was a pioneer of girls’ basketball in Illinois.
