Biography:

Don was the boys’ basketball coach at Dongola High School before becoming the principal/AD and eventually superintendent of Steeleville schools. For decades, he would pick games to go watch his old coaching buddies with his son, Matt.

Don often had deals with the Steeleville basketball team, such as buying a steak dinner if they won a tournament. He also would annually purchase 120-150 tickets to the state tournament for people in the Steeleville area. From 1958-2023, he missed only four state tournaments.
