Biography:

Tim Bankston was an instrumental figure in the first state championship in (Chicago) Simeon High School’s storied basketball history. Bankston was second on the team in scoring with 56 points and first in rebounds (27) and assists (18) as the Wolverines claimed the 1984 IHSA Class AA state title. He saved his best for the final Saturday with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in a semifinal win over West Aurora High School and had a game-high 25 points on 12-for-21 shooting with 12 rebounds and 3 assists in a 53-47 win for the title over undefeated Evanston High School. Bankston played one year at Bradley University and two years at Loyola University–Chicago.

Tim went into coaching and his teams had won four IHSA Regional titles and an IHSA Sectional crown as a head coach at (Calumet City) Thornton Fractional North High School.
