Biography:  Ron Brauer of (Olympia Fields) Rich Central High School served 18 seasons as the varsity basketball coach earning a 360-131 record (.733 winning percentage).  Ron’s overall record in 29 seasons is 518-182 (,740 winning percentage),  His teams earned 10 conference championships,  7 IHSA Regional titles and made 2 Sweet Sixteen appearances.  His 1986 club led by Kendall Gill surprised the state by finishing as the runner-up to (Chicago) King High School’s powerful state champions.  Ron coached teams that won 11 Thanksgiving Tournament Championships and 7 Big Dipper Titles.  10 times, his teams won 20+ games.  Ron Brauer was named an IBCA District 8 Coach of the Year on 4 occasions.
