Biography:

The community of Taylorville mourned the loss of Dr. Thomas A. Brewer when he died in an automobile accident.  Dr. Brewer would arrange his schedule in order to attend basketball, football and soccer games in Taylorville.  He donated his time and medical assistance to any players injured in the games.  He did so without ever asking for compensation.  To be sure that no child was excluded from playing organized sports at Taylorville because his parents couldn’t afford a physical, Dr. Brewer completed sports physicals at the high school.  He sponsored Gus Macker basketball, Red Bland Little League and Emil Mayer football teams in Taylorville.  He often took his children and their friends to the away games.

Dr. Thomas A. Brewer died on October 16, 1992 at the age of 48.
