Biography

For 23 years, Jim Conro was the timer and scoreboard operator for Burlington Central High School basketball games.  Visitors to Burlington Central were always impressed with Conro’s work.  Visitors knew they would be treated fairly because of the many years they’ve seen Conro operate at the Burlington Central official’s table along with scorer Deb Twenhafel.

Former boys’ basketball coach Dave Gilliand points out how easy it makes his job before a game to know that nothing is going to go wrong because Conro is involved in the operation.

Conro was always very supportive of the Burlington Central program and its coaches and players.

A math teacher for Burlington Central for 22 years.  Conro was the Burlington Central Friend of Basketball recipient in 1993.  Conro worked not only the varsity boys’ games at Burlington Central, but also handled the clock and scoreboard for the Burlington Central varsity girls’ basketball games.
