Biography:  Anyone who attended an Edwardsville High School football or boys’ basketball game from 1958-1992 saw the seconds tick down at the hand of Gayle Day.  Gayle was their official timer for all levels of basketball through 1982, when he cut back to timing for the varsity and jv.  Most of his years as a football timer were also at all levels.  This dedication endeared Gayle to the Edwardsville coaches and players.
