Biography: 

Steve Ford has been an active member of the Pekin booster club since its inception in 1989 by serving as treasurer. He was instrumental in helping develop the booster club into one of the most supportive organizations in central Illinois.

Ford orchestrated the refurbishing of the varsity locker room twice. He helped organize concessions, program sales, annual sports banquets and any other task the coaching staff or players might need assistance with. One of his favorite phrases is, “It’s amazing what you can accomplish when no one cares who gets the credit.” The players come first has been the motto that he developed for the booster club. He made sure funds are available for projects and helped facilitate ideas for fundraisers.

A 1977 graduate of Pekin, Ford played basketball his freshman and sophomore seasons before a knee injury forced him to the sideline.
